This project was completed in Advanced Graphic Design during my final semester at EMU. It was created in collaboration with Tait Design Co. who supplied the balsa wood flyers and cardboard carrying cases. The parameters for the assignment were to take photographs of patterns found in my surrounding environment, digitally edit them, and screen print them onto a wooden flyer. Naturally, this project was enjoyable for me because it involved the use of photography.
The wavy pattern was created from the details of a Krishna image that I photographed. This source material, and the flowing lines that arose from it, conjured up thoughts of meditation. I named the flyer Good Vibes as a result and used a light blue to further emphasize the feeling of relaxation that comes from deep meditation.
