The Results
Research
A visual and typographic study of automotive advertising history informed the campaign’s design language and creative direction.
Creative Process
The creative process combined archival, AI-generated, and live footage through editing, compositing, and motion design. Each video represents a different era of automotive history, together forming a larger visual system spanning 40 years.
Rebuilding The Past With AI
Archival sources that were too low-resolution for final deliverables were rebuilt through a multi-step, AI-assisted reconstruction process.
Stock assets resembling the archival material were selected, then altered in Photoshop by removing people from the car and converting the images to grayscale.
The edited assets were uploaded to a generative AI platform, where a detailed prompt was used to create the first and last frames for the final video clip.
The finished first and last frames were uploaded to a generative AI video platform, where a detailed prompt guided the animation between them.
Typography
Typography choices defined each era’s tone, from style & motion to hard work & speed.
