Washtenaw Recovery Advocacy Project

Digital Advertisement

Roles: Writer, Director, Editor, Colorist, Sound Designer

The Challenge: Create a digital advertisement that was powerful enough to cut through stigma and shift perceptions around recovery from substance use disorder.

The Process: I crafted a promotional video tailored for Facebook and YouTube that highlighted people in recovery as integrated, trusted members of their communities—teachers, professionals, and parents—shot in a straightforward, human-first style. The pacing, framing, and tone were designed to strip away stereotypes and replace them with everyday people, carrying a message that recovery is everywhere, and it deserves dignity.

The Results: The video became a conversation starter across WRAP’s social channels, boosting engagement and helping the organization chip away at stigma by normalizing the face of recovery. By aligning authenticity with bold storytelling, the campaign reinforced WRAP’s role as a voice of truth and advocacy in the recovery community.
